Crewe Alexandra extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a 1-1 draw at Rotherham United on Saturday. The Railwaymen are now sixth consecutive league draws into their season and sit eighth in the table.
Crewe took the lead through an own goal on 21 minutes when Joe White's corner was met by a header from Iorfa that went past his own keeper under pressure from Adrien Thibaut. Josh Stephenson had a chance to extend the lead moments later but fired over.
Rotherham equalised just before half-time. Kian Spence delivered a cross from near halfway and Paul Mullin was on hand to level the score.
Late drama but no winner
Both teams created opportunities to win the match in the second half. Crewe switched to 4-4-2 after making changes, and skipper Lewis Billington headed over following good approach play. Jack Lankester had the ball in the net in the closing stages but was ruled fractionally offside by the assistant referee.
Manager Lee Bell made two changes to the side that drew with Shrewsbury, with Mickey Demetriou ruled out through injury and Lankester dropping to the bench. Adrien Thibaut came in for his first league start of the season, and Kyle Ure started at left-back.
Crewe's next fixture is against Bristol Rovers.
