Crewe Alexandra FC has been temporarily renamed "Crewe Aleksandr" to mark the start of a landmark partnership between Compare the Market and the English Football League (EFL).

The rebranding spans the opening week of the new EFL season. Compare the Market's famous meerkat, Aleksandr, has become the face of the League Two club for the period. The temporary club logo was unveiled at Mornflake Stadium in Crewe on Tuesday 11th August, alongside fans and former football player Dean Ashton.

What the Partnership Includes

Compare the Market has become an official partner of the EFL, which comprises 72 clubs across the football pyramid. The partnership will run throughout the season and will celebrate EFL fanbases while offering exclusive rewards and monthly prize draws to fans via the Compare the Market app.

The initiative will also generate support for football communities through funding initiatives. The partnership will use Compare the Market's meerkats at its core to celebrate what EFL fandom means to different clubs and communities.
