Crewe Alexandra will travel to Rotherham United intent on bringing three points back to South Cheshire. Kenny Lunt, Player Development Manager, said the players will be targeting victory at New York Stadium.
Rotherham are among those fancied for promotion but have made a steady start to the season, sitting 14th in League Two after seven games.
Planning the approach
Lunt said: "Rotherham is a tough place to go but we will go there looking to win. They've got players we need to be careful of, and we'll assess their strengths and weaknesses, and come up with a plan."
Crewe have performed well against two other sides that have come down from League One this season, and the manager wants to build momentum with a victory.
Lunt added: "Winning breeds confidence so we want to get some momentum."
Head-to-head record
It is almost 20 years since Crewe last beat Rotherham in a league fixture. Rotherham are unbeaten in the last 11 meetings between the sides.
Both teams have been draw specialists so far this term, with eight draws between them in a total of 14 games.
