Crewe Alexandra have announced the loan signing of striker Charlie McNeill from Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long deal. The 22-year-old will join manager Lee Bell's squad with immediate effect.
McNeill's Background
McNeill came through the youth ranks at Manchester United before moving to Manchester City, where he developed a reputation as a prolific goalscorer and earned England youth caps. United re-signed him for a reported £750,000 in 2020, and he made his first-team debut in a UEFA Europa League match against Real Sociedad.
After loans at Newport and Stevenage, he was released by the Old Trafford club in 2024. He has spent the last two seasons in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday, making 50 appearances and scoring six goals in two years with the Owls.
