About Shrewsbury's Manager
Gavin Cowan was appointed as Shrewsbury head coach in January 2026, returning to the club he represented as a player between 2005 and 2007, when he made 30 appearances. Cowan was a defender during his playing career and has also represented Braintree Town, Canvey Island, Nuneaton Borough, Kidderminster Harriers, Grays Athletic, AFC Telford United, Fleetwood Town, Gainsborough Trinity, Nuneaton Town and Solihull Moors.
Before joining Shrewsbury, Cowan managed AFC Telford and Brackley Town. He guided Brackley to the National League North title in 2023. He signed a contract extension in May which keeps him at the club until summer 2028.
