Photographs of Cheshire's landscapes, wildlife and working countryside are on display at PLATFORM gallery in Crewe town centre.

The exhibition brings together images from CPRE Cheshire's centenary photography competition. The organisation's published exhibition schedule lists the Crewe display from 6 to 31 October 2026.

PLATFORM occupies the former Burton shop at 79-83 Market Street. The gallery is run by CreweCreates.

Seeing the countryside through local photographers

The competition marked 100 years of CPRE, the countryside charity. Photojournalist Howard Barlow selected the winning entries, with the submitted collection ranging from rural landscapes and farmland to close-up images of wildlife.

The photographs provide a chance to see familiar places from different perspectives, including the fields and green spaces surrounding Cheshire's towns.

Jamie Chalmers of CreweCreates said the exhibition was an opportunity to highlight countryside close to Crewe and encourage visitors to explore it. CPRE Cheshire says the competition also supports its work promoting the value of rural landscapes.

Planning a visit

The exhibition is at PLATFORM, 79-83 Market Street, Crewe, until 31 October. Visitors should check the gallery's current opening arrangements before travelling.

The photography display forms part of CPRE Cheshire's autumn exhibition tour. Full details are available on CPRE Cheshire’s exhibition announcement and from CreweCreates’ PLATFORM page.
