Crewe Alexandra is backing the EFL's Together Against Racism campaign, which runs from 16 to 26 October across all 72 clubs in the league. The club will mark a dedicated matchday on Saturday, 17 October, when Crewe Alexandra plays Rochdale, to reinforce the message that racism has no place in football, online or in communities.

The campaign aims to challenge racism wherever it occurs and encourage supporters to report incidents directly to clubs. EFL data from last season shows that 63% of racism incidents reported directly to clubs led to individuals being identified and action taken — more than twice the rate of post-match reports.

Why immediate reporting matters

Almost nine in every 10 successful identifications came from incidents reported directly to clubs on matchday, according to the EFL. By reporting concerns immediately, supporters help clubs, stewards and authorities gather evidence and identify those responsible more quickly.

Last season, 51 people received bans following racism incidents, and a further 15 attended education courses.

Crewe Alexandra's anti-racism work

Crewe Alexandra delivers Equality and Diversity programmes to schools in the CW2 area through the club's Community Centre. The club is committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and able to enjoy football free from racism and other forms of discrimination.
