Crewe Alexandra manager Lee Bell is weighing squad rotation options ahead of Tuesday's League Two match against Walsall at Mornflake Stadium (7.45pm kick-off).
Bell has good options to freshen his team, with several players back from injury pushing for minutes. Conor Thomas and Joe White have returned, while goalkeeper Ian Lawlor is back in the fold. Owen Lunt is also expected to be available soon.
The manager said: "We've got some really good options. Some will be fed up that they haven't got enough minutes yet, but it's going to be a squad game this season. It's good to have CT and Joe back. Ian is back in the fold and Owen Lunt won't be far behind them. They all know their opportunities will come and it's good to be able to freshen things up."
The Opposition
Walsall begin the season under new management with boss Lee Grant and have started unbeaten with seven points. The Saddlers sit second in League Two, ahead of fifth-placed Crewe on goal difference.
Bell acknowledged the challenge ahead. "We've had one of the toughest starts on paper. Walsall are another team under new management and they play a completely different style of football to what they had been doing. We're going to have to come up with a formula for that. It's a totally new team and we're going to have to look at it closely."
Pushing for Starts
In addition to returning players, Charlie McNeill, Kyle Ure and Adrien Thibaut will be eyeing their first league starts of the season.
