Crewe Alexandra manager Lee Bell has confirmed the club will continue to explore signing options before the transfer deadline, but emphasised his satisfaction with the squad already assembled.
The Railwaymen have made six new additions so far this window. Midfielder Kyle Ure and defender Josh Stephenson arrived on loan last week from Celtic and Brentford respectively, joining earlier signings Charlie McNeill on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and permanent signings Luke Offord, Joe White and Jordan Gibson.
Bell's transfer stance
Bell said: "I'm extremely happy with the players we've brought in. You'd always like one or two more, which we'll explore, but things have to be right for us to be able to do that."
The manager added that the club is taking a measured approach to the final week of the window. "We're really calm going into the last week of the window," Bell said. "None of our players will be leaving unless someone comes in with a couple of million quid for them, so that gives you stability in the longer term."
Injury update ahead of Port Vale clash
Bell reported no fresh injury concerns before Saturday's derby at Port Vale, which kicks off at 12.30pm. Ian Lawlor, Conor Thomas, Joe White and Owen Lunt have missed the club's last couple of games. Youngster Owen Taylor will undergo minor surgery on a groin injury.
