Crewe Alexandra has confirmed that winger Dion Rankine has joined National League side Eastleigh on loan until January. The 23-year-old will spend the first half of the campaign with the Spitfires as he looks to gain valuable game time.
Background
Rankine joined Crewe Alexandra on a permanent deal from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2025, arriving with significant EFL experience despite his young age. A pacey and direct wide player, he had previously featured for Wigan after making the switch from Chelsea, where he progressed through the club's renowned academy after joining from Cambridge United as a teenager.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Rankine also enjoyed a productive loan spell with Exeter City, making more than 30 appearances in League One.
