Crewe Alexandra will welcome Northampton Town to Mornflake Stadium on Saturday at 3pm as they look to make it two wins from two in League Two. The Alex won 1-0 at Crawley Town in their opening fixture and will be seeking another three points on home soil.
Northampton began their League Two campaign with a goalless draw against Swindon Town at Sixfields, before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion Under-21s in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.
The Opposition
Northampton have been relegated from the third tier and are back in League Two this season. Manager Chris Hogg, 41, took charge in May and is in his first managerial role. He previously worked in coaching positions with Ipswich Town, Newcastle United, MK Dons, Bristol City and Norwich.
Hogg has made significant changes to the squad as Northampton attempt to rebuild following their demotion. Speaking ahead of the match, Hogg said: "I've got a lot of time for how Crewe have done stuff over the years, and Lee has done a great job. It'll be a tough game, a footballing one, and we will have to earn the right to play."
