Crewe Alexandra earned a 1-1 draw against Stoke City in a friendly match at Mornflake Stadium. Adrien Thibaut headed home the equaliser on 75 minutes after Stan Mlynarski's assist down the wing, cancelling out Sam Gallagher's opener for Stoke that came just before half-time.
Second Half Changes
Both sides made full team changes in the second half, giving players valuable minutes in the friendly fixture. Players including Thomas and Demetriou gained experience in the match.
Defensive Display
The Railwaymen defended resolutely in the closing stages to preserve the draw. Tom Booth made a crucial save on 88 minutes to deny Milan Smit, while a covering defender also blocked Tomas Rigo's effort on the line.
It was a positive outing for Crewe against a physical Stoke outfit.
