Cheshire East residents, businesses and organisations are being invited to comment on proposed changes to Council Tax Support for working-age households.
The council says its Cabinet approved a 12-week consultation earlier in October. No final decision has been made on implementing the proposals.
According to the council, the scheme provides around £22 million of support each year. It says the review considers fairness between households, consistency and long-term sustainability.
How views will be considered
The council says consultation responses will be considered alongside equality and financial impact assessments before a final report goes to Cabinet and full council.
The consultation closes on Sunday 10 January 2027. Details are available through the council’s consultation and engagement hub at https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/consultations
